"Police car lights will be flashing and sirens wailing through Medina's Historic Public Square on December 15 - but for the happiest of reasons," stated Officer Brett Robertson, of the Montville Township Police Department, who welcomed SHOP WITH A COP community partner Medina Sunrise Rotary, and commented, "The Medina County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #204 is honored to partner with Medina Sunrise Rotary on SHOP WITH A COP. This continuing program would not be possible without the help of Medina's many generous local businesses and service organizations like Rotary. We are truly grateful for our community support."
The annual Shop with a Cop caravan of safety vehicles will be passing through on its way to taking disadvantaged kids to shop for holiday presents at Walmart on North Court Street. About 140 kids will be participating in this year's event, which is sponsored by the Medina County Fraternal Order of Police. Each of the kids will receive a $125 gift card to spend at Walmart for toys and gifts for themselves or their families - plus breakfast with Santa!. "We have a great community that donates funds to make this event possible. We will have around 12 agencies participating, with around 60 public safety vehicles in the parade," said event organizer Brett Robertson, a Montville Township police officer.
The purpose of this family-fun holiday event is to foster positive relationships among youth and our police officers. Last year, we were able to provide more than 140 children a very special Christmas. The FOP is appreciative of the many volunteers and local law enforcement who will make this a Happy Holiday Season for so many children and their families.
