Dr. Christina Collins spoke with Rotary this morning about one of the best jobs in Ohio -- "I represent the Ohio Board of Education, which enables me to open the door to love, care and education for school children in Ohio.”

 

The State Board of Education is made up of 19 members - 11 who are elected and eight who are appointed by the governor, Dr. Collins informed the club. The chairs of the education committees of the Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio Senate serve as non-voting ex officio members. The Superintendent of Public Instruction serves as secretary of the State Board of Education.  Our mission is to supply resources and guidelines for school administrators, teachers, parents, students and communities throughout the 88 counties in the State of Ohio.
