"Certainly, to recognize a person as a Paul Harris Fellow should always be an honor to the individual, his family and his community because it demonstrates significant support for the voluntary service work of Rotary and living the Rotary motto of 'Service Above Self'," explained Will Koran.  "And just as a Paul Harris Fellow can be recognition for exceptional service it can also be the expression of appreciation for a very generous contribution to the continued work of the Rotary Foundation."

Koran thanked the 2012 honorees and added, "The last time I checked, Rotary listed about 700,000 Paul Harris Fellows throughout the world.  You are the backbone of the $70 million in annual support to the Rotary Foundation and without your donations, The Rotary Foundation would be one of the most respected humanitarian, educational and peace building foundations of the world in the 21st Century."
