"Feeding Medina County's mission is to educate, engage and lead our community in creating an environment where no child or adult goes hungry," said Katy Fuerst to Medina Sunrise Rotary.

Katy, who was named new FMC Executive Director on December 28, 2020, spoke with deep appreciation as she acknowledged how volunteers, sponsors and community partners like Medina Sunrise Rotary have made Feeding Medina County more accessible to the growing needs of our Medina County.

Since her arrival, FMC's free food distributions have grown from the original location at the Medina County Fairgrounds, to include Brunswick, Lodi and Wadsworth. The School Weekender Program now serves over 800 students and the Staples for Seniors Program is hosted in 14 facilities. 90 Families are regularly served by the Emergency Daysite Pantry and the new "Door-Dash" Program now serves 17 high risk families.

When asked how she manages to keep up with growing food insecurity in Medina County, Katy just smiled and said, "God always provides ... and Feeding Medina County is that provider."
