Today, local legend and founder of “Let’s Make a Difference”, Michelle Powell, is welcomed by Rotary as a Paul Harris Fellow. She joins Rotary's diverse family of 1.2 million men and women of action who have served their communities both at home and abroad in over 200 countries. Since 1905, they have proudly been united by their dedication to building a better and more peaceful world for everyone. Paul Harris Fellowship Inductees such as Michelle Powell exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”.
"People like Michelle Powell make our community stronger by overcoming personal challenges and adding skills, experience, and enthusiasm to advance communities at home and on a global scale," stated Rotary Past District Governor Jack Young. "Working together, we can eradicate polio, train more skilled peacemakers, protect and empower children, and provide lasting solutions for communities fighting disease, hunger, illiteracy, and poverty."
