Rhonda Wurgler, Executive Director of the Children's Center of Medina County, and Anna Guy-Leach accepted a plaque from Dr. Mike Carlson, celebrating the completion of the outdoor toy storage shed and their continuing community partnership with Medina Sunrise Rotary.  "Our mission is to nurture abused and neglected children through collaboration, advocacy, treatment, and prevention," said Ms. Wurgler. "We are truly grateful for our volunteers and community partners, like Medina Sunrise Rotary. During this holiday season, family needs increase and we could use your help and support to bring hope, heal families, and change lives."

The Children's Center is currently the only Child Advocacy Center in Medina County.  About 100 children throughout Medina County come to the Center each year.  These children who have suffered sexual abuse, physical abuse, or extreme neglect tell their story of abuse to specially trained members of the multidisciplinary team in a child friendly environment. Since the Children’s Center opened in 2007, we have nurtured 7,084 children in Medina County through the programs we offer our community.
