AMERICA'S HOMETOWN MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

"America's Hometown  Memorial Day Parade" in Medina stepped off at 10 a.m. Monday, following a wreath laying ceremony in front of the Medina County Courthouse and ending at Spring Grove Cemetery for a memorial service honoring the men and women who died while serving in our nation's armed forces.

The Rotary Clubs of Brunswick, Medina and Medina Sunrise and Rotary Youth Exchange Student Stella de Paiva were transported along the parade route by our friends at TPS Tire & Service Center from Brunswick, Ohio.   Scott Beard, the owner of TPS, personally provided four heavy equipment vehicles and company drivers as a community partner with Rotary to join the community in remembering  those in the military who gave their lives in service for our country's freedom. The Memorial Day holiday, which is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May, was held on May 30 from 1868-1971.
