A LITTLE HUMOR

On a lonely, moonlit country road as the car engine coughed and the car came to a halt, the following conversation took place:  “That’s funny,” said the young man.  “I wonder what that knocking was?”  “Well, I can tell you one thing for sure,” the girl answered icily.  “It wasn’t opportunity.”

A little message from the Farmer’s Almanac:

A Word From Steven Covey:

Probably the most important deposit you can make into an Emotional Bank Account is to listen, without judging or preaching or reading your own autobiography into what someone says. Just listen and seek to understand.  Let the person feel your concern for him or her, your acceptance of him or her as a person.  The person may not respond at first, but as those genuine deposits keep coming they begin to add up.  That overdrawn balance is shrinking.

Trivia:

What popular film star told a late-night TV host, “I get paid good money to squint in movies, and I’m not going to do it for free here?”  Clint Eastwood, during an August 2002 appearance on The Late Late Show, hosted by Craig Kilborn.

What did baseball player Charles Waite wear onto the field in 1875 that had fans ridiculing him as a sissy?

A Sports Fact:

Hector Torres hits the first grand slam homer in Toronto Blue Jays history, leading the first-year expansion team to a 7-6 win over the Yankees at Exhibition Stadium.  The former hero of Mexico’s Monterrey Little League championship team touches Ron Guidry for his slam in the fifth inning, but it’s an infrequent wallop for the light-hitting Torres.  In nine seasons with five teams he’ll have only 18 home runs. Some Words of Wisdom:

I have been receiving some daily words of wisdom from a group called “Ragan Motivation”.  I thought I would share a few with you each time.  Here are some

My world is made meaningful not by what I can evaluate and define, but by what I can appreciate and adore. I find there is a profound difference in what I find interesting and what I find important. Ann E. Hossler Organist

You have to be careful about being too careful. Beryl Pfizer

Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy. Howard W. Newton

Four Way Test:

As always

Of the things we think, say, and do…

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concern?

Will it build good will and better

        friendships?

Will it be beneficial to all?
